About the Pathways Collection
This series of four paintings explores the metaphor of pathways as a reflection of the myriad choices and decisions that shape our lives. Each piece captures the complexity and beauty of these journeys which we all take, whether moving forward by making distinct choices or just going with the flow of life. While using a common palette, the use of color, texture, and form varies across the series, evoking emotions ranging from hope and curiosity to uncertainty and resolve. By juxtaposing structured paths with organic, meandering lines, these paintings invite viewers to consider their own life choices—moments of clarity, divergence, and the unknown. Ultimately, the series serves as a personal questioning of the transformative power of decision-making and the boundless possibilities inherent in each of our human journeys.

"My original paintings often take months to paint as I build up layers to create visual effects, and I am usually working on several paintings in my studio.  I rarely use traditional paint brushes, instead working with a variety of tools like pasty scrapers, rollers, sticks, and even old credit cards to apply and move paint around the surface. The result is often bold, sometimes subtle, and always optimistic."
